MOMO is the Italian racing brand that started with one steering wheel. In 1964, gentleman racer Gianpiero Moretti commissioned a custom steering wheel for his own car — thicker grip, smaller diameter, better feel than anything else on the market. John Surtees saw it, mounted one on his Ferrari, and won the Formula One World Championship that same year. The brand name comes from "Moretti Monza." Sixty years later, MOMO steering wheels have been gripped by Andretti, Senna, Mansell, Schumacher, and basically every other name that matters in motorsport.
We carry the MOMO Motorsport catalog of steering wheels, shift knobs, hub adapters, and racing seats — the parts tuners actually buy. The Prototipo, Mod 78, Mod 11, MonteCarlo, and Heritage Indy designs are still produced in Italy with the same construction principles Moretti pioneered. Pair with the correct hub adapter for your chassis (we carry NRG, Works Bell, and MOMO's own boss kits) and you've got a genuine race-bred wheel in a daily driver, an autocross car, or a track build.
Yes. We source MOMO through authorized US distribution and every product ships in original MOMO packaging with the holographic authenticity sticker, model number, and warranty documentation intact. Counterfeit MOMO steering wheels are everywhere — eBay, AliExpress, "JDM auction" listings, even Amazon Marketplace. The Prototipo and Mod 11 designs are the most commonly faked. Real MOMO wheels have specific stitching patterns, weighted center hubs, and stamping on the back spokes; replicas miss these details. Buying through a legitimate retailer is the only reliable way to get a real wheel, the warranty, and a hub adapter that actually fits.
In-stock MOMO steering wheels, shift knobs, and hub adapters typically ship within 1 to 3 business days from US warehousing. Racing seats and less common steering wheel models may ship from MOMO's primary distribution on a 1 to 2 week lead time. Made-to-order or custom Heritage Series wheels can take 4 to 8 weeks from Italy. We confirm exact stock and ETA at order placement and provide tracking the moment your order ships.
MOMO products carry the manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Returns on unused, uninstalled MOMO steering wheels, shift knobs, and racing seats in original packaging are accepted within 30 days. Once a steering wheel has been installed on a hub or a seat has been mounted, it is no longer returnable per MOMO policy. Custom or made-to-order Heritage Series items are non-returnable. Kami Speed handles all warranty claims and RMA processing directly with MOMO on your behalf.
MOMO steering wheels use a universal 6-bolt mounting pattern that fits onto any compatible hub adapter (also called a "boss kit"). You'll need the correct hub adapter for your specific vehicle — these are chassis-specific and we carry adapters from NRG, Works Bell, and MOMO. A short-hub option lets you bring the wheel closer to you; a standard hub keeps the factory position. If your car has airbag-equipped factory steering, removing it requires disabling the airbag system, which is legal in most US states for off-street use but worth checking against local laws. We're happy to help you spec the right wheel-and-hub combo for your build.
