HKS Type 2 Speed Limit Defencer
Most of JDM vehicles are equipped with speed limiter function. With this function, the vehicle's speed cannot exceed 180km/h. On the other hand, the performance of JDM vehicles is improved; even non-sports models are capable of driving over 180km/h.
HKS SLD can eliminate the factory speed limiter to drive over 180km/h and bring out full performance of the vehicle.
■For CAN Communication System
Lately, some vehicles are equipped with "CAN Communication System" (*1) to control the vehicle's speed. This CAN communication system complicates elimination of the speed limiter. However, HKS SLD type III utilizes a new method to control the speed data in CAN communication system and eliminate the speed limiter.
■No ECU Data Modification
HKS SLD type III does not rewrite the factory ECU data; the speed limiter can be eliminated without modification of the ECU data.

- HKS found the way to pick up the speed signal from other signals transmitted by CAN communication system to eliminate the speed limiter.
- The original control method of CAN communication system enables the vehicle's digital speed meter to indicate the speed over 180km/h.
- The speed limiter can be eliminated even after rewriting the ECU program to connect the unit to the ECU harness.
*1 CAN (Controller Area Network) communication is a high speed, highly reliable, and internationally - standardized network system within a vehicle. It controls the engine, drive-train and meters, etc. Also in addition to the speed data, it controls electric devices. CAN requires only 2 lines to control data. CAN is very popular in Europe and is becoming more popular globally.

Orders over $500 will ship insured and over $1,000 with signature and insurance in order to guarantee delivery. Orders over $1000 may not be able to ship to a different address not listed as the billing address or confirm payment address from the form of payment used. Orders with suite numbers, different billing, or apartment numbers will require signature if valued over $200.
Delivery Inspection & Damage Claims
Large, oversized, fragile, and performance parts must be inspected immediately upon delivery and before installation. Damage, missing parts, incorrect items, or cosmetic concerns must be reported within 3 business days of delivery with photos of the product, outer box, inner packaging, and shipping label.
Please keep all packaging until the item has been fully inspected. Claims may be denied if the item has been installed, mounted, modified, test-fitted, used, reported late, or if the packaging has been discarded.
All international orders outside of the USA are subject to duties and taxes fees per your countries jurisdiction and determined by customs. Refusal to pay duties/taxes fees prior to delivery will have the product sent back to us. This will be treated a standard return and all fees including original and refusal shipping fees will be deducted from original amount.
Kami Speed serves the right to ship using an alternative method if we see it fit, in order to expedite shipping and reduce your rate depending on product value.
Processing and logistics on in stock international orders will take up to 7 business days to process & ship as sometimes we only have 1 international pickup a week.
In stock, non pre-orders or special order items can be returned within 30 days of the product arriving to your house or place of work.
30 days, unused. Refund = item price minus 20% restocking fee. Original shipping is non-refundable. Return shipping (if we provide label) is also deducted.
Returns will NOT be accepted on Clearance Items, Final Sales, Special Orders, Pre-Orders, Opened, Installed, Incomplete, or Otherwise Used Products. In order to initiate a return, an RMA number must be requested and approved via e-mail
Any loan orders will have a 10% cancelation fee to cover the loan processing fees or 3rd party merchant fees. No fee will be incurred if used as store credit.
