ACT clutch kits and flywheels carry a 1-year limited warranty — significantly longer than the 90 to 120 day warranties that are industry-standard for performance clutches. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for unused and properly installed components. Returns on unused, uninstalled clutches and flywheels in original packaging are accepted within 30 days. Once installed, clutches and flywheels are no longer returnable — friction surfaces, contact patterns, and crank-to-flywheel mating change on first use. Defective products are handled through ACT's warranty program, and Kami Speed processes RMA claims on your behalf.
ACT Heavy Duty Performance Street is the streetable performance upgrade — increased holding capacity over stock, retains a near-OEM pedal feel, sprung hub for smooth engagement. Good for bolt-on builds and mildly tuned cars. Heavy Duty Race steps up with the same pressure plate but aggressive friction options: 4-pad and 6-pad discs in sprung or rigid hub configurations, designed for serious street/strip and track use with firmer pedal effort. Xtreme Performance is the next tier — higher clamp load pressure plate paired with HD or race discs, for built engines and high-boost setups where Heavy Duty isn't enough. Mod-Twin is ACT's twin-plate solution: two friction discs, intermediate plate, and dramatically higher torque capacity for 600+ horsepower applications and dedicated race builds. Honest take on selection: if you can run a single-disc, run a single-disc — Mod-Twin has known drivability tradeoffs (chatter, harder engagement, weight) that aren't great for daily drivers. Most builds belong in Heavy Duty or Xtreme.
